Talking of The Flaming Lips, who do you think is the greatest musical innovator/s of all time?
Personally, i think I might have to go for Bowie, Tom Waits and the Pixies - off of the top of my head. I think its far to early yet to give that title to TVOTR, even if we are three albums in.
Anyone have any thoughts?

Frank Zappa. Name a genre and he has done it. Amazing composer and extremely underated guitarist. Up there with the biggest guitar gods.

Wow, that's a pretty big question; I'd have to break it down by genre or decade, I think. I suppose many would argue for the Beatles or Elvis or something. Guitar-wise, I'd say Robert Fripp or Jeff Beck; for other stuff, I'll think about it some more.

Guitar wise, Django Reinhardt. Musical innovators i would say Duke Ellington, Bowie is up there too.
