Just curious if anybody has checked them out. I knew about their TVOTR connection for quite awhile, but didn't really look into them until I saw them opening for Saul Williams' "Tar Spangled Banner" tour. They blew me away! A lot has been made of Dave's production on some of their tracks, and the added appearances of Tunde and Kyp definitely tie them to TVOTR, but they've got something altogether unique going on too. The best way I can describe it is as a blend of slow-funk-shoegazer-free-jazz-R&B with the polar opposite tribal-thrash-punk-metal; only the whole thing has tilted off of its axis and is devouring every other style it can along the way. That, and the lyrics (at least the ones I was meant to understand!) are rapturous. Check out some samples here: Live on DaytrotterLive on Dublab
